Balancing Human Rights and Religious Freedom

June 20, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

A Toronto woman filed a human rights complaint in 2012, after a barber declined to cut her hair, arguing his religion prevents him from touching a woman outside his family. As Canada’s diversity grows, which rights trump others?

Columnist Michael Coren had a falling out with his church over LGBT rights.  He and human rights lawyer Andrew Carvajal discuss the delicate balance between human rights and religious freedom.

Join this Why Should I Care? discussion Monday June 20th, at the Madison Avenue Pub (14 Madison Avenue).  Doors open at 7 p.m. and discussion starts promptly at 7:30.

Please remember Why Should I Care? encourages healthy and respectful debate about public policy.

Please RSVP to let us know you can join us!
