Improving City Council

March 20, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Is it time to party up Toronto?

Toronto City Hall can’t exactly be accused of great productivity.  From debating the same subway more times than most of us care to count, to installing, then removing bike lanes, one has to question why there isn’t more direction at city hall.

Would introducing parties into municipal politics help give voters a better sense of what each candidate stands for, what they can be held accountable for, and increase voter turnout?  Could parties help put a rudder on municipal politics and increase diversity?  In the last election, only one incumbent was defeated and your current council, once again, is dominated by men.

Join Alan Kasperski, founder of the Green Party Toronto, and Stephen Thiele, leader of the Toronto Party for a Better City, on Monday March 20th as they make the case for introducing party politics in Toronto.

We will be at the Madison Avenue Pub (14 Madison Avenue) on March 20th.

Doors open at 7:00pm, discussion starts promptly at 7:30pm.

As always, the events are free, you only have to pay for what you order.

Please RSVP to let us know you are coming.
