Precarious Employment

July 8, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Canada’s labour market is changing dramatically. Almost 50% of workers in the GTA are engaged in “precarious labour” – jobs with low salaries, unpredictable schedules, no benefits and no security. Some workers in these roles aren’t protected by employment legislation.

This rise of precarious employment is a threat not only to the collective prosperity of Ontario, but also to the social fabric of communities.  It can impact individual’s mental health, personal relationships, and family life. But with employers struggling to make ends meet as well, is there any alternative?

On July 8th, employment lawyers Barbara Warner and Lai-King Hum join us to discuss these new employment trends and the impact of precarious labour has on our society.

We will be at our uptown location, The Rose and Crown, at 2335 Yonge Street. Doors open at 7:00pm and the discussion begins at 7:30pm. As always, this event is free.

Please RSVP to let us know you will be joining us.
