February 28 – Civic Engagement Discussion

In the summer of 2010, the federal government decided to make the Canadian long form census voluntary (against the advice of Canada’s chief statistician) despite the protests of a plethora of not-for-profit organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and even religious groups.  John Campey, the Executive Director of Social Planning Toronto launched a campaign to highlight what the loss of data integrity means to Canadians, and in particular, vulnerable populations.

Come join us to discuss the merits of the census, and what can you can do to help bring it back.

This promises to be a fun and insightful discussion that involves good food, beer, and fun.

The event is absolutely free (you only have to pay for what you order).

Please register for the event here.  It is absolutely free (you’ll get a confirmation email, but there’s no need to print out the ticket).
