| Canadians are in the grips of an affordability crisis, with housing out of reach for many, and housing costs straining the budgets of almost all of us. The Carney government has pledged 13 billion in investments to address the Housing Crisis. They have created an entity called ‘Build Canada Homes’ to act as the developer of affordable housing at scale. |
| But it’s not enough. To tackle the housing crisis, we need to ensure this new entity’s mandate expands to ensure affordable housing is the #1 priority, and that people, not corporate developers, are the first to benefit. The government needs to develop programs at scale in order to make housing affordable to all Canadians. |
