Canadian Mining – Needs, Rights, and Responsibilities

April 15, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Did you know that 75% of the world’s mining companies are headquartered in Canada? With this much pull on the world stage, you would think that Canada could impose its health and humans rights values around the world. However, what are the values that we hold dear? In our own backyards, aboriginal rights are ignored in the name of pipelines. What other atrocities are committed in Canada’s name further afield?

Sakura Saunders, mining justice organizer, and , Kerrie Blaise, Environmental Lawyer, will be joining us on April 15 to discuss mining justice and the human cost for our access to cheap minerals and resources.

Join us on April 15 at the Madison Pub (14 Madison Ave). Door open 7:00pm. Discussion starts promptly at 7:15pm.

Please RSVP to let us know you can join us!
