New Canada Food Guide – An Early Look

March 18, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Canada is getting a new food guide!

The food guide is perhaps the first political document Canadian children are introduced to. Historically, it was a standard bearer for the most powerful food lobbies and revisions based on health and nutritional needs were difficult.

What does the new guide mean for the food industry? Dairy farmers are already warning about the new guide’s harm to the dairy sector.

How will the new guide work? Who are the winners and losers to this 3 year rewrite?

Food researcher and author Alissa Hamilton and Cookie Roscoe, Wychwood Barns Market manager, will be joining us on March 18 for an early look at the new Canada Food guide, its winner and losers, and the impact on farmers.

We will be at the Madison Pub on the second floor.

Please RSVP to let us know you are joining us.

Doors open 7:00pm. Discussion starts promptly at 7:15pm.
