Digital Rights – Privacy, Fair Use, and the lack of Clarity

January 21, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Digital Rights

Existing laws are not adequate to address the current technology use, let alone the rise of autonomous vehicles and technology such as automated AI call centres. Canada lacks a strategy governing digital rights regarding issues such as consent, data collection, fair use, compensation, and privacy.

What should new models for consent and privacy look like? Should we be compensated for either willingly or unwillingly giving up personal information?

Bianca Wylie, a leading Digital Rights activist, and Nathaniel Erskine Smith, MP and member of the Public Safety and National Security Committee, will be joining us on January 21, 2019.

We will be at the Madison Avenue Pub on Monday January 21. Doors open 7:00pm. Discussion starts promptly at 7:15pm.

Please RSVP  to let us know you can join us!
