Ranked Ballots – Should Ontario adopt it province wide?

November 19, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Is it time Toronto adopted a ranked ballot system to elect our city representation?

On October 22, London Ontario elected its first city council based on ranked ballots. It’s already in used in London, England, San Francisco, St. Paul’s Minnesota, and many other countries as far afield as Australia and Ireland. What are the advantages and what are the drawbacks? What can we expect to see from our first municipality in Ontario to use the system?

Michael Urban from Ranked Ballot Initiative of Toronto, and , Bryan Leblanc, Former Director of Communications and Senior Advisor to Cabinet Ministers in the McGuinty and Wynne governments, will discuss the benefits of Ranked Ballots, how they have performed in other jurisdictions and what our own London Ontario’s election looked like.

Join us November 19 at the Madison. Doors open at 7:00pm and we will start promptly at 7:15pm.

Please RSVP to let us know you will be joining us.
