Innovating our Healthcare costs down

April 13, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Heath care is consistently ranked as the most important issue during election cycles.  However, the costs are proving to be unsustainable particularly as the bulk of Canadians age. Healthcare costs are also asymmetrically distributed among the population.  Five percent of Ontarians account for 65% of provincial health care costs for individual care, with 1% of the population accounting for one-third of these costs.

What is the real cost of Ontario’s healthcare? Who is really shouldering these costs? Despite this being 2016, electronic health records still haven’t materialized.

How can we use this recent healthcare innovation as a way to manage skyrocketing healthcare costs?

Join us on April  13th as we welcome Dr. Sara Guilcher, Assistant Professor, Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto and Dr.Michael Carter, Director of the Centre for Research in Healthcare Engineering to discuss what users actually cost the healthcare system, and how new innovation  can be used to reduce healthcare costs.

We will be at our uptown location, The Rose and Crown, at 2335 Yonge Street. Doors open for informal networking at 7:00 and the discussion starts promptly at 7:30pm. As always, this event is free, you just have to pay for what you order. Please RSVP to let us know you will be joining us.
