WSIC about youth Unemployment/ Underemployment?

September 23, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Canada is graduating more students from post secondary institutions than ever before. With 51% of Canadians graduating from a post secondary institution, we are the world’s most educated population. Yet despite the rosy figures, 16% of youth are unemployed and many more are underemployed.

Creating opportunities for the current generation is paramount to a fully functioning economy. Having engaged citizens means that citizens are also capable of finding fulfillment professionally and Canada can’t afford a lost generation of young people with large debt loads and few prospects.

Michael Hlinka, a regular business commentator for CBC and metro morning, and Julia Deans, CEO of the Canadian Youth Business Foundation, will share their thoughts on how to improve opportunities for Canadian youth.

Join us on Monday, September 23 at the Duke of York (39 Prince Arthur Ave), ask your questions and share your thoughts about Youth Unemployment/Underemployment. If you just want to sit, listen, and have a drink, that’s fine too. As always, the event is free.
Please RSVP using our Eventbrite page. Doors open 7:00pm, discussion starts at 7:30.
