Healing the Rural-Urban Divide

October 20, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ontario is deeply divided between its rural roots and explosive urban growth. The values of these demographics are often at odds. Partisan politics has a way of furthering those divides. As the PC rebuilds, questions remain about how they will help heal that divide. What are concerns of rural voters that urban dwellers are ignoring? What stake do rural areas have in strong vibrant cities?

Join us on October 20th at the Duke of York (39 Prince Arthur Avenue), where WSIC will host two current MPPs and members of the PC party, Monte McNaughton (Lambton-Kent-Middlesex) and Lisa MacLoed (Nepean-Carlton) who will lead us in a discussion about how the rural and urban rift can be healed? This is an exciting time where new ideas for will be brought forward and debated. We invite our WSIC audience to take part in this process as we believe that feedback from the entire community spectrum serves to enhance our society’s goal of continuously improving government.

Doors open 7:00pm. Discussion starts 7:30pm.

RSVP to let us know you can join us.
