North York Why Should I Care? Transit and Urban Planning

November 10, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Everybody’s talking about transit. Our current system is overcrowded and ageing, and many commuters are frustrated. Congestion in North York is so bad it’s easy to question if anyone is thinking about transit planning and land-use planning in conjunction. There are many solutions being considered, but which one is the right one? And will any of them have a meaningful impact?

Please join us in welcoming two transportation experts for a discussion about transit, urban planning, and what we can expect from a new mayor and city council. Richard Gilbert is a consultant on transport, energy and urban governance, and Adam Giambrone is a community activist, transportation consultant, and former Chair of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). Both are former Toronto city councillors and have lots to say about how to get Toronto moving.

Monday, November 10

Doors open at 7pm, discussion starts at 7:30pm

St Louis Bar and Grill, upstairs

5307 Yonge Street (north of North York Centre subway station)
